I am 32 years old and I want to become a coroner or a forensic pathologist, am I too old and where do I start?

I am very interested in this and do not know where to start. Both of my parents are R.N.'s and they tell me I'm too old. That does not matter, I really want to do this! All of my life I've been fascinated with forensics and death ( not to be morbid), but it does not scare me. thank you michelle
